Can I use my UK IP address when I' m abroad to watch Iplayer/Sky go?

Several solutions:

1.) You could set up a tunnel and leave you PC on. To set up a tunnel you can either use SSH or OpenVPN both are free but require a little tech know-how to set up.

2.) If you have a corporate VPN you could take connect your laptop to the corporate vpn to watch these assuming your company has no issue with this and doesn't block the sites.

3.) You can buy a slingbox and connect it to your TV. http://uk.slingbox.com/
but it's expensive.

4.) If you are travelling often, the easiest and best performing solution I've found is to use a good vpn provider. StrongVPN is $50 a year and has excellent support. Never had issues streaming with them.

Hope this helps!

What is a VPN?

VPN is (Virtual Private Network) were first used by companies to enable their employees to securely access internal systems such as email remotely (e.g. from home or while on business trips). Today they are increasingly being used for personal use by individuals to protect their privacy while online in public places (e.g. when using the wi-fi connection in a cafe) or in a country where the internet is censored / blocked (e.g. China, Saudi Arabia).
